About Cow Hollow Gardener

My name is Lynn. I started this blog in 2012 as a way to record and share some of the interesting plants and projects I had going in my garden. My house is on one of the steepest hills in San Francisco in the neighborhood called Cow Hollow.

Cow Hollow is a rectangle (or maybe a boot shape) spanning the four blocks between Lombard St/Hwy 101 and Green Street which marks the informal boundary of Pacific Heights. On the other axis, it runs from the edge of the Presidio on Lyon Street all the way to Van Ness Ave.

I have lived, gardened, kept house and raised puppies, rescue dogs and children in Cow Hollow for more than 25 years. I am also an attorney, but this site isn’t about professional matters. It also isn’t solely about gardening, but gardening is a daily practice that grounds us and connects us to the natural world, so “gardener” is a handle I use with pride.
